Precise power delivered

The premium 7 channel MM8077 is expertly crafted to meet all your high power needs with 150W per channel. The entire unit is designed to drive the speakers controlled and precisely to deliver finest audio signals. The copper plated chassis and the toroidal transformer power supply underline this.

Designed for the ultimate music and movie surround sound experience, the MM8077 7-channel power amplifier is equipped with the same
amplifier technologies that are incorporated in Marantz’s reference class hi-fi amplifiers, including their unique current feedback discrete power amplifier stage design, which features a high slew rate that provides a wide bandwidth for the utmost enjoyment of today’s high resolution audio formats. All output stages feature identical topology for uniform high quality sound across all channels, and the MM8077 provides the option to choose between balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs for each channel, for maximum system configuration flexibility. High current, high bandwidth discrete power transistors can handle short term musical bursts with aplomb, even into difficult low impedance speaker loads.

Power The Most Demanding Of Systems

With todays wide range of speaker systems on the market it is highly important that an amplifier is designed to deliver the optimum performance in any configuration. Of course, one aspect is the power the amplifier can deliver, and also how it can handle the energy coming back from the speaker. The MM8077 is designed to be as insensitive to the connected speaker as possible to always deliver the best audio performance.

Toroidal Transformer Power Supply

The heart of any amplifier is the power supply delivering all the energy that drives the speakers. In the MM8077 only the best and oversized parts are used. The key source of energy is the power transformer. In this instance Marantz has installed a toroidal transformer instead of the standard EI type, which outperforms the latter with super clean power and minimized vibration.

Featuring Marantz’s Unique Current Feedback

Featuring Marantz’s unique current feedback discrete power amp output stages that are identical for all channels, the MM8077 is equipped with multiple high current discrete power transistors that feature high slew rate and wide operating bandwidth to extract the most detail from today’s high resolution audio formats.

Masterfully Built

The output devices are mounted on our unique dual extruded aluminum alloy heat sink assembly, configured in a tunnel arrangement that provides both passive and active cooling. The massive heat sinks feature multiple ribbed fins that provide a large passive cooling area, and the assembly is book-ended with a whisper quiet fan that automatically kicks in to provide near silent active cooling when the soundtrack heats up. As the fan is mounted internally directly to the heat sinks, and not externally to the chassis cover as is often the case, even when it’s running, it’s designed to be whisper quiet.

Clean And Consistent Power

The power supply features a high current toroidal power transformer along with high power (71WVDC) filter capacitors with a total 100,000µF capacitance to easily handle sharp short-term transient peaks.

Ultimate Powerhouse

Designed for the ultimate music and movie surround sound experience, the Marantz MM8077 7-channel power amplifier delivers power and detail, and is rated at 150W (20Hz – 20kHz, 0.08% THD, 2ch. drive) per channel into 8 ohms, and 180W per channel into 6 ohms.
